Hello.

It’s that time of year again for Scare-A-Con! Only this year things will be different. I am going to have a chance to interview Joanne Padgett author of Vampire’s of Camelot. I met her at Scare-A-Con 2013 and last month we had a brief chat on Facebook and she agreed to a small interview! I’m very excited for this opportunity.

I also have an opportunity to be an alt model and I’m taking it. I’ve always wanted to get into that world! I’m very excited.

I will be 24 in September! Woooooooo~! Happy mid Twenties to me~! What a better way to celebrate with three tattoos? 😉

I would like feedback from you readers. If I have any left since I’ve been internetless…

Would you prefer interviews be written or filmed?

Mercy: How did you get into modeling?

Brittany M: How I got into modeling was that I had a friend who was dabbling in it and a photographer noticed my facebook and asked if I wanted to do a shoot. I figured why not and went for it!

Mercy: How has modeling affected you as a person?

Mercy: Do you have any specific likes about modeling?

Brittany M: What I like about modeling is how all the different aspects can come together and create something wonderful.

Mercy: And the cliched question after likes… the dislikes?

Brittany M: Dislikes, the fact it can get tedious behind the camera with all the details and getting everything set up and networking.

Mercy: Let’s talk about your first shoot. How was it?

Brittany M: The first shoot was very liberating but also highly terrifying.

Mercy: Do you have a favorite shoot or event so far?

Brittany M: My most favorite shoot… that’s actually a hard question. I love the production of each. But, probably my bloody boudior shoot, because I just got to play and roll around in fake blood for hours!

Mercy: Where do you hope to go with modeling?

Brittany M: My ultimate goal is to be a traveling model.

Mercy: Have you had any bad shoots before?

Brittany M: You always get at least one good shot from a shoot. But, mainly my first few shoots were worse because it was so weird and different being in front of a camera.

Mercy: Any tips for any upcoming models?

Brittany M: Upcoming models just need to focus on networking and being a good person. And, eventually word of mouth is what gets you the gigs. But be sure you know your boundaries and stick to them!

Mercy: Is modeling something you think everyone should try once – even if it’s just for fun?

Brittany M: Everyone should do it once. No matter the type. It makes you feel great about yourself and you can look at it and say wow… is that really me?

Devils and Ghouls,

I miss you greatly. I miss being a creative miss to offer crappy entertainment for your souls. Mercy’s Macabre is still in the works. I am currently working on a logo idea for the show and figuring out a  few more things that need to be in place before I even bother to film it. My boyfriend and I are also going to be bringing back the Unsuccessful Entertainment Channel with newer reviews and such. We are also working on an animated series with one of our friends. There’s a lot in the works but it is definitely worth the wait.

On another note, I’ve been going through a lot in my life off the web that had me spinning out of control! I’m hoping tomorrow gives me the beautiful answer that I need to push forth with all my hard working efforts! Four years — Four hard working years are being put into this… and it’s bout time I reap some rewards from my hard work! Not to mention, I’ve been out of whack with my emotions for a while now. I want to get them back into control! I think I pretty much had a year long mental break down before I myself got annoyed with the shit and decided to put it behind me and embrace the beauty that I am.

I am currently obsessed with this typing it’s insane!

I just want to breathe and feel the cool spring air upon my skin, beneath the pale moon light and write my poetry all throughout the night. Hearing the subtle sound of the crickets. And digging deep within my soul.

How I miss it…

0

Hello Devils & Ghouls.

‘Tis my pleasure to announce that I am currently working on a web series! I’ve been wanting to get back into doing YouTube for a very long time and have finally formulated a neat idea that I think you will all enjoy. Join me in my web series as I talk entertainment of all forms! I’m hoping to get everything gathered for Episode One by the beginning of February. I am delighted to be back creating videos and this time around I feel this web series will have a shaky start but hopefully bring in some viewers. I thank you all that read my blog and hope you will join in on following me on youtube one the series begins! The series will be a weekly show. Which I think is more than sufficient. When the first episode is uploaded, I will share with you all. I’m hoping to have some contests and such within the show as well. That is one of the goals. Maybe once a month I’ll do a live show where you guys can ask me questions. But that’s later on. I’m working hard on my web series, episode one. I’m excited it’s driving me completely batty! — Signed, Mercy Desdemona

Yellow Brick Road (2010) Review

0

Hello Devils & Ghouls!

Today we will take a look at the film Yellow Brick Road that came out in 2010. I don’t normally do recent movies, but this one really left me with a lot to say. When browsing upon Hulu with my love, we stumbled upon this film due to it’s interesting description, we thought it would be a good film to watch. Here is the description/storyline from IDMB:

One Morning in New England, 1940, the entire population of Friar New Hampshire – 572 people – walked together up a winding mountain trail and into the wilderness. They left behind their clothes, their money, all of their essentials. Even their dogs were abandoned, tied to posts and left to starve. No One knows why. A search party dispatched by the U.S. Army eventually discovered the remains of nearly 300 of Friar’s evacuees. Many had frozen to death. Others were cruelly and mysteriously slaughtered. The bodies of the remaining citizens are still unaccounted for. Over the years, a quiet cover-up operation managed to weave the story of Friar into the stuff of legends and backwoods fairy tales. The town has slowly repopulated, but the vast wilderness is mostly untracked, with the northern-most stretches off limits to local hunters and loggers. In 2008, the coordinates for the “YELLOWBRICKROAD” trail head were declassified. The first official expedition into a dark and twisted wilderness (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1398428/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1)

As you can see, from the description of the film it seems like a great story line filled with wonder and adventure! I hate to say this, but the small description is the most exciting of the film. In my opinion, the whole thing was rushed. It starts off by showing old photos of the mishap in the 1940s, and a man with his wife are writing a book about the amazing mystery of the Yellow Brick Road. They get a team to go up the trail in search of any clues that may help them write their book. Right away though, everything is moving so fast it’s hard to follow. They don’t really go deep into the history of why these people are going in the expedition. All you think is, okay this guy is just going for a hike. The lack of detail made the film quite annoying. After you get the gist of what is going on, you follow the people on the trail. Slowly one by one they start going insane, especially after finding an old hat. You get interested in where they are going because you want to know whats at the end of the trail.

The movie has this big build up to a sucky ending that just leaves you confused. I really don’t get why it ended like that, maybe they didn’t really think out their storyline or there were some issues I don’t know but it is the worst ending after all the craziness and build up in the world! There really is never an explanation as to why they all went bonkers on the trail — My guess is because they ended up like the people from the 1940s — but on the other hand, there were some survivors that was gathered by a few interviews they did with people so I really don’t know.

If you are bored and just need something on in the background, I recommend this film. I don’t recommend it if you actually want to sit and watch something.

-900/10
