Music Festival Update

0

Creeps,

June first is creeping up upon us and I’m hoping that the weather man is incorrect about the weather on that day. 85 degrees with a chance of mild thunderstorms. That would piss me off after all this hard work has been done and we’d have to switch stuff. NO!

I might want to check with the adult center to see if they’ll be our indoor venue just in case. Other than that, I have no idea. The high school would be alright, but looks poor considering its a fundraiser for a local business.

We’ve had an act cancel on us, so we have 2 more band slots available and time working against us! Other than that, bands are all secured. I have to rush Saturday morning to pick up my PA system and rush to the venue.

This is going to be an interesting Saturday and I’m very frustrated at this point because I still haven’t heard from the group that’s supposed to be doing the bake sale table! It’s quite irritating when everything comes down to this one day. One chance at a first impression.

On a great note, my festival is being advertised on BIC: http://www.bicproductions.com/

I appreciate their time in advertising for us! It’s an honor.

I have gotten a lot more confident than I ever was during this whole endeavor. Now, it’s crunch time to take those daydreams into a reality.

I’m pretty happy with how this festival came about and all the struggles with it. It shows that I can tackle the worst situations and become better at what I do! Life is a learning experience!

What I’m looking forward to – not only the festival and the opening of my ice cream shop – but also getting back into music myself! I’ve been saying this for a long time, but this time it’s going to happen!

I’ve already gotten back into doing my vocal warm up practices. I’d really like to get my hands on a bass again and do keyboards again.

Inspirations are all around me. I’ve been working hard for two damn years to create a better life for myself, my boyfriend, and my family. I’d love to see it pay off.

I’m also going to get back into doing the film and album reviews once a week on this blog after the festival. Unsuccessful Entertainment will be back doing videos after the festival as well.

We appreciate all the new follows and subscribers! Thanks for Creepin’!

Crowd funding – Contribute Here!

Hello Creeps.

I would like to announce that I now have an indiegogo account to help raise funds for my family’s ice cream shop. Banks were to no avail and now it’s time for me to reach out!

http://igg.me/p/411118/x/2742769 — Here we have my indiegogo account – check it out and spread it around! It is important for me to raise money necessary to open. While the music fest will help in it’s own way, it won’t be enough to open my doors.

Thank you for your time.

Hello Creeps! Business Update!

0

Hello! I’ve missed blogging very much! But I have been pre-occupied with the fundraisers and my business situation. Right now, I’m in a good placement because I’m finding more and more about what I need to do and feeling so much more accomplished. I’m actually going down to my shop this week to start taking out items I know I definitely won’t need and selling them to someone that could use it.

My community is well aware of my situation and since The Igloo is such a beloved place by all, many people are reaching out to me asking me what they could do to help! So far, I’ve got a place donated to me for the music festival and the date and times are beginning to take place. Which means, on top of everything else I’m doing, I need practice vocals. And how does Mercy do that? By singing while she’s doing business work and yard work!

I also have a new Unsuccessful Entertainment video to upload! It will be in 2 parts.

Quick Business Update!

Hello Creeps.

I want to thank you all for the words of encouragement in this struggling time of mine. Today, I received an e-mail from the man at the SBA who is going to meet with me by phone to discuss a letter of recommendation to replace the need of a co-signer. I’m still waiting for my second business call from the underwriter, but I’m glad to have a strong, happy feeling in my gut instead of the stressed and negative feeling I’ve had for the passed few weeks.

I look forward to both phone interviews and can’t wait to get started to move forward.

Business Update

So I met with the man at the SBA and he said he was going to talk to two micro lenders and two bank contacts for my ice cream shop. I still feel like I need to talk to financial places with my father to get myself closer to the funds needed to open. I have a good feeling about it since the meeting. it’s all more positive than it was before. I just need to have that foot in a little bit more to feel secure about the situation.

I’ve been told that grants are available too. But, I am discouraged from seeking any. I am very determined to get my business open by May, June the latest. I will do what it takes.

Starting an Ice Cream Shop

2

So, for the past 2 years I’ve been trying to gather all information together to put together a business plan for my family’s ice cream shop. 2 years – yes because I had to learn a lot of the industry via classes and such. I have a deadline of March 15th, and don’t see the SBA guy again until March 5th. I’m freaking out because I’m in need of start up funding. I don’t want to lose this for my family as it will end up to be our only income. Every time I think I am taking one step ahead, I’m pushed down. Maybe I’m making things harder on myself, I don’t know. But, this is definitely something that needs to happen. I can’t lose this opportunity at all. Let’s hope today is going to be a step forward with the shop.
