Hello! I’ve missed blogging very much! But I have been pre-occupied with the fundraisers and my business situation. Right now, I’m in a good placement because I’m finding more and more about what I need to do and feeling so much more accomplished. I’m actually going down to my shop this week to start taking out items I know I definitely won’t need and selling them to someone that could use it.
My community is well aware of my situation and since The Igloo is such a beloved place by all, many people are reaching out to me asking me what they could do to help! So far, I’ve got a place donated to me for the music festival and the date and times are beginning to take place. Which means, on top of everything else I’m doing, I need practice vocals. And how does Mercy do that? By singing while she’s doing business work and yard work!
I also have a new Unsuccessful Entertainment video to upload! It will be in 2 parts.
Hello Creeps! Here’s an update on my music fest fundraiser. We are currently working on some merchandise while we wait to hear our confirmation from the venues. The artwork above has the cheese factor of every D.I.Y. person and was created by my love.
Me and my love, Will – We’re the founders of this festival that we want to have twice a year. We have locations in Northern and Central New York.
We have a facebook “like” page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dissident-Overdrive-Music-Festival/444357902319781
So… here i am… raising funds for my business, attracting investors, and working ever so hard on accomplishing my goals. Funny thing is, my dad has no idea I’m putting this fundraiser together. I wanted to have everything set in stone before we present it to him.
I took charge, and I deliver.

Igloo Donation Drive
Hello Creeps! Today, I’m in need of your help. I am working on fundraising to obtain the capital I need to open my doors by June 2013. There is the link to my GoFundMe account if you’d like to take a look at the now updated page. Tomorrow, I will be shooting a video inside the Igloo Parlor to discuss in depth what the fundraising is all about. I am also working on a Music Fest to raise the rest of the funds and bring the community together to show what the Igloo has to offer for the kids, teens, and adults. If you would be so kind to click the link and pass it around I would be thankful. On the Igloo Donation page, I have taken away the rewards and replaced them with a break down of what the money is going to. I think that is a better way of showing where the money is going. Thank you.

Hello Creeps. So, today I’m going to talk a little bit about what’s going up with my search for funding. I am working with a company call Express Business Lines. I was happy to get the call from them on Tuesday. I have to say, I’m already satisfied with their service so far. First thing I noticed was how upfront the people are. They tell you right away what you qualify for, what you don’t, and they break down the reasons why. They also tell you all options available to you in your specific case/situation. I do still need a co-signer, but I have two people that are willing to put their faith in me to create a successful business venture. The great thing I like about this company is that they reply FAST! Whether you leave a message for them via phone and they respond promptly with an e-mail or a responding telephone call. They are straight to the point, brutally honest (which I can respect!), and really tell you things that the SBA and Banks don’t tell you are available options for small businesses.
If you are in need of some funding I’d check them out: Express Business Lines
I have been working with them for 3 days and so far things are moving quickly and smoothly. I look forward to obtaining my necessary capital.
How can I get funding for my start up with “new” credit? Apparently, because I’m young nothing shows up. I don’t have a co-signer. I know of people that have been in my position and have received it. I’m getting worried because I’m trying to help my family out. And everything I do is working against me. What do I have to do to actually get this? I’m pressed for time AND I already have a customer base for my business. People not just in my community, but state wide and out of state are asking when I’m opening. I’m seriously feeling a tad bit discouraged. I don’t know, I just don’t know. I’ve been pushed around from lender to lender. They tell me all this stuff is available to me because I am a woman sole proprietorship. They tell me because I don’t have any problems against my credit I can do it. Yet, they always switch up the story. If anyone out there has experience and can recommend something, please do. Because I’m at my wits end.
So I met with the man at the SBA and he said he was going to talk to two micro lenders and two bank contacts for my ice cream shop. I still feel like I need to talk to financial places with my father to get myself closer to the funds needed to open. I have a good feeling about it since the meeting. it’s all more positive than it was before. I just need to have that foot in a little bit more to feel secure about the situation.
I’ve been told that grants are available too. But, I am discouraged from seeking any. I am very determined to get my business open by May, June the latest. I will do what it takes.
