Dissident Overdrive Music Festival & Igloo Merchandise!

0

Hey Creeps. I’ve been busy trying to obtain my capital for my start up ice cream shop. Go figure, it’s easier to get help once your in business…but NOT to make it happen. -_- Yeah, you heard me! So, here I am, no credit history and managed to obtain a business credit card with a small limit to help me build my credit score. I’m still in search of a co-signer and with tensions high, I need to stay calm and be level headed.

My boyfriend and I have come up with the Dissident Overdrive Music Festival! And I just recently added some merchandise items!

Dark T-Shirts and Merchandise are coming up later this evening. If you’d like to check it out and purchase something as support that would be great! Check here: http://www.cafepress.com/dissidentoverdrivemusicfestival <–Click it or copy/paste.

I am currently trying to figure out a way to get open for at least 1 month to show investors that this is a good idea. I’m really looking forward to this hurdle/obstacle to be behind me and be successful in my venture!

The Waiting Game & More.

0

I’m currently playing the waiting game with my financing which is making me incredibly nervous. I had to switch my business opening date from Memorial Day to June. I need to be open at least 2 weeks before 4th of July. It takes 15 – 30 days to receive the funds and my investors told me on Monday they would get back to me in a couple days. I know it’s Wednesday, but I’m getting quite anxious. I am also working hard on my music fest fundraiser along with my boyfriend. That’s coming a long well – only the venue is at a stand still because we have to make sure our date doesn’t interfere with another party.

The waiting game is the absolute worst game to ever have to play. Especially, when it’s about as something as heavy as business financing. I know once the financing is situated, my family and friends can have a celebration of the accomplishment. It’s been so damn long! Every minute feels like an eternity as I wait. I’m very anxious to start my business, music career, and more outside of the web.

Year in Review (So Far):

  • Christmas 2012 – My boyfriend of 5 months moves in with me and meets my family for the first time.
  • The End of the Mercy & Luna Show in January 2013 – This was my first Youtube “show” with a then friend of mine, Luna, which we hosted every weekend. Over time, we could see that we wanted to chase our own life paths and things got rather rocky. Between our time differences, lifestyles, and the fact we weren’t close friends as we once were, the show and the friendship had to end.
  • Unsuccessful Entertainment begins in Feb. 2013 and is still going strong!
  • Dissident Overdrive Music Festival was formed on April 6th 2013 by my boyfriend and myself as a fundraiser for my family’s ice cream parlor business.
  • My love and I will be celebrating our 9 month anniversary.
  • I’ve gotten back into singing training and will pick up bass again once the business is up and going.
  • I’m starting to live for myself and feeling good about myself.

A Day Out & More (Photography & Blog)

Hello Creeps.

I have to say, I’ve enjoyed the somewhat decent weather lately that allows me to go out and about with my love and capture photographs. I have been very stressed lately looking for a co-signer that not only is willing to do such, but also be able to qualify. I’m certain that I have two people available but they are leery about it. Only because of my age. They are flesh and blood, and they are discriminating against my age! I will have it settled promptly though. I have a feeling this snag will be over promptly! And for the better!

My music festival is coming along great! What I hate is that I’m working in a small time frame! I despise working on things in a small time frame because it has to be put together at a quick rate! But, I know I can make this a success. My boyfriend has had experience in creating festivals first hand. So between the two of us, we can make this a reality! This music festival will feature my band, Fatal Fury, as the headliners! It will be our first appearance! Hopefully, we will raise funds and awareness to my ice cream venture! That’s the main reason for this festival! Also, I want to make this festival a Yearly festival sponsored by my ice cream shop! These are my goals and I can assure you I will most definitely achieve them! So far, we have come up with the name: Dissident Overdrive Music Festival. This festival isn’t just a fundraiser, but it helps promote local talents/bands and businesses. It’s about the strength in a community and it is the FIRST festival to ever take place in my area. Talk about pressure to make it great! So far, I have 3 choices for venues that I have to call tomorrow to book the date. Second step, is to pass around the flyers and raise awareness! My heart and soul is going both into this festival and my family’s business. The business will help my family in their successes! Co-signer will happen as I’m offering it as an investment into the company and offer payment for their time as a temporary co-signer. 🙂

Today, my love and I had the pleasure of strolling down the street for some lovely soda pop and took a few pictures. We found some old ruins by one of the cemeteries that we frequent. It was a lovely but FREEZING stroll as we have a winter snow warning in April. (Welcome to New York!) For some reason, when I hear songs with a groovy beat I feel like dancing like the go-go dancers in the 60s. You know, when it was freestyle dancing and not hoochie mc hooch hooch. Anyways, below are some photographs (unedited!) that we took today!

Igloo Donation Drive

Hello Creeps! Today, I’m in need of your help. I am working on fundraising to obtain the capital I need to open my doors by June 2013. There is the link to my GoFundMe account if you’d like to take a look at the now updated page. Tomorrow, I will be shooting a video inside the Igloo Parlor to discuss in depth what the fundraising is all about. I am also working on a Music Fest to raise the rest of the funds and bring the community together to show what the Igloo has to offer for the kids, teens, and adults. If you would be so kind to click the link and pass it around I would be thankful. On the Igloo Donation page, I have taken away the rewards and replaced them with a break down of what the money is going to. I think that is a better way of showing where the money is going. Thank you.

Search for funding… continued

Definitely thinking of doing the music fest idea as a fundraiser. Already got the school’s music club to help out. Problem is ironing out the ideas, getting a date, venue, and flyers.

I still need a co-signer which is my major obstacle. Because let’s face it, if I even do raise money for this thing, I don’t know if it will be enough to do the renovations, get the equipment or the inventory. It may just be enough to pay my mortgage on the building. I need a back up plan.

I myself, qualify for equipment financing. But if I do that, I still won’t have money for inventory or renovations.

So, I thought hey fundraise and use the equipment financing – No problem! Right? But whose to say this fundraiser will do the job? I mean, if I can make this business open for 3 months I could qualify for a line of credit by myself (supposedly). I am in a bind. My family needs this more than anything.

I could check with the county chamber of commerce – they may tell me to see the SBA. And the SBA has done … well nothing but pretty much discriminate me for my age. After two years, I need something to show for myself.

I’m honestly, in a bind. I don’t know of any co-signer. And that’s what’s bothering me. The co-signer is only temporary through this business I found. 3 months and the co-signer disappears. I need a co-signer because of my young age. Apparently, other young “entrepreneurs” used the business credit for a vacation in Tahiti. Not only that, but the fact I don’t ever use credit cards pretty much screws me over.  -_-

So.. .what should I do? I need something to get the doors open and the profits rolling in. I know this business is profitable because I did work there when it was open. I watched the trends and learned from it.

I really need to get this on a roll.
