I am Demon. (Logical Rant)

0

Whilst looking upon youtube, my boyfriend stumbled upon a YouTuber that was attempting to analyze a song by one of our favorite bands. Instead of doing a well thought out researched analysis, she started to take the words as a personal attack on herself and her religious belief. Instead of realizing that the song was telling a story. After all, music is a form of entertainment, and the best songs tell us a story to strike up emotions.

After she did 2 parts of her “analysis” and calling people who follow metal music demonic and brainwashed imbeciles, she made a reply video for those that enjoy the music. She called us Demons, that she was against our legion, and how we’ve got serious issues because we don’t follow the gospel. This is what I said as a reply to her video:

Hello. I must say that I watched your Venom video and all I have to say is Wow! For one, I am a fan of the music – Metal has helped me through a lot in my lifetime, more so than religious extremism that is keeping people divided and conquered. The only reason someone has a “Demon” in them is because the “Demon” is the troubles within themselves that they fail to admit or face. Blaming a song for telling a story or a genre of music and calling them a “legion” of demons is pretty asinine. Chill.

I honestly, don’t normally comment on people’s videos, but I felt the need to say something. In her reply she “analyzes” the Venom website and starts talking about the pentagrams and the imagery of the band. Religious pushers like this woman, clearly are why so many people don’t want to discuss the religion. The type of person to judge someone without knowing anything and “damn” them to hell.

What I don’t understand, is that in her video she claims that if people don’t like her page, they should get off and concentrate on their life. Why doesn’t she take her own advice and go her way in life? I am proud to be a “demon” in her eyes. And it’s her extremism that makes me appalled. She claims to be a person of “God” yet she will spit on fellow brothers and sisters. She doesn’t follow the number one rule “Treat others how you want to be treated.”

Extremism always makes me rant because I don’t like to see people around me hurt without any true reason. They aren’t harming anyone. I have friends that follow a faith that still listen to metal music. Extremism is what will kill this beautiful country & world. Over a belief! A belief that is supposed to bring people together and unite!

The other thing that I don’t understand – Christianity adopted the pagan holidays into their ways — so they spit in the world of the pagans. Saying we need to be burned at stake and such. Again – EXTREMISM! People have too much time on their hands to be so cruel to another human being. In my eyes, you don’t attack someone and bully them into your realm unless you have a serious mental issue.

Having a faith or not having the faith isn’t the issue. When people are left alone without politics or the religion topic, we actually come together well. We accept we’re all human and do what we need to do to be successful. When we don’t like someone in particular, we just don’t associate with them. We don’t start hate groups nor bully.

Extremism is a major issue not just in the USA, but around the world. And it’s “parent” if you will, is biased media that causes the people to be divided. We are just people of all walks of life. We have hearts, emotions, bones, and brains.

Metal music has helped me as a person. I enjoy the imagery of the stories that are deep within lyrical content that cause you to think. I am proud to be “demonic” if that’s what you will. But, I’ll be the first to help someone hurt in the street or in need of help while you’ll sit there judging from afar.

Extremism needs to stop. Or we’ll just end up causing our own demise.

Views on Fan Made Videos

0

I always enjoy seeing fellow fans such as myself put in the effort to cover a song or even make a tribute video to those that inspired them to be on the stage or in the field they pursue. They don’t condone stealing the music or media of which they use. When a fan takes video at a concert they go to and post it up, it’s not because they wanna steal it’s their way of paying tribute. Majority of the time (I’m speaking from self experience), fans save up to get every box set, album, vinyl, DVD etc of the people they support. We are the promoters of these idols we watch from afar. These people that made us feel at home when the rest of the world would just spit in our face.

We do a better job than commercials on television and posters in shops. We talk about every bit of information with people we bump into and friends, family, etc. And from there is travels — like that game of “telephone” we play in elementary school.

Gods of Metal Tribute

Part of Unsuccessful Entertainment is music. It took my boyfriend and I all night to put this tribute together. These fallen Gods of Metal left an impact on their fans — which their legacy will live on through. Enjoy our Gods of Metal Tribute.

Women in Music

0

Warning: This post is brutally honest and to the point.

I am a young woman that is a musician. I can count on one hand how many females I look up to in the Metal world. A majority of my idols are men in the field. The other day I was discussing with my boyfriend our idols and that is where I came to this realization. My vocal idols are mainly men. Doro being the only woman I can really say I look up to. Others are all men.

I set pretty high standards for myself. I like to have a goal on how to improve my abilities so I can be the best that I can be. When I see what is considered a “woman” in music, I basically want to face palm myself. These “women” aren’t real women at all. They are young girls that are the voice for women. Which is sad and pathetic. There are a lot of women out there with the guts, blood, sweat, tears, and raw power out there that don’t get the props they deserve because they don’t act like a poster chick.

Mercy’s definition of a poster chick: A girl in music that uses her body to gain attention even though she has poor abilities or abilities that don’t reach their full potential because they’d rather “slut up” for posters and be someone’s fap material.

Ex:

You don’t need to be a poster chick if you’ve got raw power to you. You don’t need to compete for sexiest metal queen nor compete for best looking person on earth. Music isn’t a beauty contest. If it were, we’d have fucking pageants.

Doro is proof you needn’t slut up:

As for people that are truly in the music for their love, they will give their all. Showing off your boobs and ass to everyone on the planet doesn’t make you popular because you’re “talent” is awesome. It’s because you walk around like some playboy bunny looking for some tail.

Ladies, run with your talent. Your body isn’t for sale. You want to be taken seriously, then prove you’ve got what it takes. Don’t try to get by on life with looks. Looks fade, a true talent lasts forever.

Music Inspiration

Today whilst sitting in my room doing business research I find myself listening to music that I obtained when I was younger that made me feel at home. When I was a small child I had to hide the fact I enjoyed this music from family as a majority of them are very religious and currently see me as the devil’s spawn. These albums lit a fire in my little soul. I would put the headphones on, disappear and listen to them on repeat for hours. These albums are what seduced me into the land of Metal.

– Black Sabbath’s Black Sabbath Album was something my father used to over play a lot. The bass playing is what always grabbed my attention more than anything. The dark riffs, the way it just set me alive was insane! I feel at home with this album. Although, I must admit I’m more of a Dio era Sabbath fan!

– Iron Butterfly. What can I really say about them except that they drew me in and I felt so comfortable I didn’t want to leave. I was definitely drawn to the groove of the bass and the way the keys were played. It caught my attention more than anything. I remember writing many short stories to Iron Butterfly.

– Dio’s Dream Evil album. I found this in a pile of music when going through old things in a garage. I don’t remember if it was a family members garage or not. But I remember getting my hands on it and not wanting to let go. Dio’s voice draws me in and makes me feel like I’m listening to a story. I would go about my day singing along do Dio on walks and while I played.

– CARNIVORE!!!!!! I was definitely a big Carnivore fan and remember being told it was the “devil’s music”. Honestly, This band is fucking amazing! The lyrical content, the bass playing, the vocals, the twists and turns. This is the album when I decided I wanted to pick up bass and vocals.

– Naturally, being a Carnivore fan, I followed Type O Negative which made me feel like I was at home. I felt the music deep within me. I could tell that music was my calling after listening to them. I loved how they are their own. They don’t need to be put in a genre because of all the different elements within them.

– Warlock! I remember stumbling upon Warlock going through more old records and seeing Doro! She showed me that you don’t have to be a slutty bimbo to be an awesome metal chick. You can be yourself, have the balls to be there and not to care what others think. I adore Doro for all that she’s done for Females over the years! \m/ Another Album I used to sing along into a hair brush and make my hair “Doro-fied”.

There are 6 albums that shaped who I am as a person. Enjoy.
Who are some of your Idols? ( Doesn’t need to be music related )
